Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I need to do anything before we meet?

Gather Content. I always suggest that my clients gather website content for before we meet. Important things to have available for the first meeting are samples of websites that you like, any corporate documents or marketing materials that may be helpful for the website or my understanding of your business, digital photographs and/or company logos on compact disc.

Bring your mission. Not just a company mission statement, but also goals and objectives for the website. Please provide me with different "Call Outs" and "Key Points". For example, if your company sells a product or service, name the most unique aspect of your product or service. Another example, say you are a politician, what is the most common statement your opposition is saying about your party and how are you debunking it?

Do you require a contract to do work?

Yes. My standard contract addresses issues such as intellectual property ownership, browser compatibility, target delivery dates and pricing among other things. The intent of the contract is to create a clear understanding of the responsibilities of each party.

I do not own a domain name, should I register one, or will you?

I always recommend that my clients register their own domain name. I want you to own your domain. Unethical web designers can purchase domains on behalf of their clients and hold it hostage if their client chooses to use another designer. If you are unsure how to register a domain name, I would be happy to provide guidance and assistance during the process.

Do you design for print too?

Absolutely. If you need print materials such as business cards, letterheads, postcards, folders or brochures, I'd be happy to help. I have a variety of samples of past work that we can use as a starting point.
